During a full year of service, volunteers work forty hours each week in one or two La Puente programs, and they obtain firsthand experience working at a nonprofit organization.

Housing, transportation, health insurance, and a living stipend are provided. Full-time volunteers may apply for loan deferment of past schooling as well as the AmeriCorps Education Award that is offered upon completion of a year of service.
