During a full year of service, volunteers work forty hours each week in one or two La Puente programs, obtaining firsthand experience working at a nonprofit organization.
Housing, transportation, health insurance, and a living stipend are provided. Full-time volunteers may apply for loan deferment of past schooling as well as the AmeriCorps Education Award that is offered upon completion of a year of service.

Application Instructions:
The application process consist of providing both a work and school history, responding to some basic essay questions, and providing us with three references, with at least one being a work reference. We currently do not accept the AmeriCorps application; you will need to complete the La Puente application to be considered. The application and reference form can be downloaded below and submitted either electronically or by mail. The reference forms however needs to come electronically from your references or by mail in sealed envelopes.
We are no longer accepting applications for the volunteer term starting August 1, 2011. Our next application cycle will begin in September for the volunteer term starting February 1, 2012. If you are interested in applying for that term, more information will be posted this fall.
